Dr. Alan Schalscha, Director Médico

Dr. Alan SchalschaPor casi dos décadas, el Dr. Alan Schalscha también ha hecho trabajo voluntario como miembro del consejo y líder de DOCARE International, una organización humanitaria que se dedica a proveer cuidados médicos a comunidades desatendidas alrededor del mundo. Como Director Médico de DOCARE, anualmente él dirige un grupo de entre 70 y 100 proveedores y estudiantes a misiones en Guatemala, y fue instrumental para establecer dos clínicas permanentes para el cuidado médico continuo en San Andrés, Colombia, y Tecpán, Guatemala. El Dr. Schalscha también fue nombrado Humanitario del Año 2019 por la Sociedad Médica del Condado de Travis por su trabajo con DOCARE.

El Dr. Schalscha es un Profesor Asociado del Departamento de Salud Poblacional de la Escuela de Medicina Dell de la Universidad de Texas en Austin, que integra los cuidados integrales con la educación clínica. Antes de unirse a Central Health como Director Médico, él se desempeñó como Director Médico de los Centros de Salud Federalmente Certificados (FQHC, por sus siglas en inglés) CommUnityCare Health Centers, afiliados a Central Health.

El Dr. Schalscha se graduó de la Universidad de Texas en Austin con dos licenciaturas y una maestría, antes de ingresar en la Escuela de Medicina. Luego, él recibió su título médico de Midwestern University y completó su residencia en medicina familiar.
