Sharon J. Alvis serves as an Executive Vice President at Central Health and the Chief Executive Officer of Sendero Health Plans. She is a thought leader and high-performing executive with experience bringing innovative health care products to market. She delivers a comprehensive understanding of the complex interactions between providers, payers, and patients, and has helped companies redefine the status quo by navigating the nuances of the industry.
Sharon spent her early career in business development and executive leadership roles for various health systems and start-ups, working extensively with managed care products. Her career trajectory has been marked by serving in senior management positions with health plans, hospitals, and physician organizations, including holding key positions for multiple start-ups and successfully leading HMOs, PPOs, and an Employee Assistance Program. She served as President of Vista360health, an HMO, and as Regional VP (Texas & Louisiana) for a Medicare Advantage Plan. She was also CEO of a PHO representing 450 physicians and three unaffiliated hospitals.
Before joining Sendero Health Plans, Sharon served as Market President for Curative Insurance Company, where she led the development of a new PPO fully insured product catering to large employers. In addition to her work with the Central Health system, she also serves on the Executive Committee of the Texas Association of Health Plans and on the Board of the Austin Healthcare Council.
