Medical Assistant (MA) Apprenticeship Program

Want to become a Medical Assistant?

Central Health (CH) has partnered with Austin Community College (ACC) to facilitate an accelerated program that trains candidates to become a Medical Assistant in just 15 weeks. The first nine weeks will be dedicated to theoretical study, and the last six weeks will be devoted to practical trainings.

The program offers candidates full-time employment, benefits, and a scholarship while they work toward obtaining their Medical Assistant certification.

What is a Medical Assistant?

A Medical Assistant or MA is a skilled professional who performs administrative and clinical tasks in a medical setting.

Their role is vital to ensuring a smooth operation of the medical office and a positive patient experience.

Key responsibilities of an MA include:

  • Taking vital signs
  • Assisting in examinations
  • Providing guidance to patients

Program Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Age 18 and above
  • In-person, full attendance is mandatory between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Must clear any holds you have on your ACC account
