Central Health and CommUnityCare Health Centers Leader Elected to National Health Centers Board
September 4, 2025
AUSTIN, Texas — The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) has elected Dr. Nicholas Yagoda, Central Health’s executive vice president of ambulatory services and CEO of CommUnityCare Health Centers, to its Board of Directors as a Clinician Representative.
As one of just two clinician representatives nationwide, Dr. Yagoda will help set priorities, guide advocacy efforts, and strengthen the national community health center movement.
“I am deeply honored to be elected to the NACHC Board of Directors,” Dr. Yagoda said. “Community health centers can and must play a central role in the broader health system landscape. As the only health care model directly accountable to patients, as proven beacons for equity, quality, and value, health centers must scale their impact. I am inspired by NACHC’s bold ambition to reach one in three Americans through systems thinking, collaboration across sectors, and a commitment to reshaping health care around community needs.”
Dr. Yagoda, who joined CommUnityCare Health Centers in 2014 and was named permanent CEO in 2025, has been instrumental in expanding access to care for Travis County residents with low income. Under his leadership, CommUnityCare Health Centers has broadened its services and increased its capacity to address the county’s growing health care needs.
“Dr. Yagoda’s election is an important reflection of the vital work being done by Central Health and CommUnityCare Health Centers here in Travis County,” said Dr. Pat Lee, Central Health president & CEO. “It ensures that the unique needs of our community and the patients we serve will be represented in national discussions that shape the future of health care.”
