Central Health Joins Common Health Coalition

August 16, 2024

New group seeks to unite healthcare, public health partners behind tested strategies

The Common Health Coalition, founded in March by five leading national healthcare organizations, has announced Central Health among its newest members.

The non-profit was founded by AHIP (formerly America’s Health Insurance Plans), the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP), the American Hospital Association (AHA), the American Medical Association (AMA), and Kaiser Permanente to ensure the U.S. health system is more ready to confront its next crisis via strengthened partnerships between healthcare and public health. The coalition recently named 46 new members, Central Health among them, to better represent all 50 states as it reimagines a system where America’s healthcare and public health systems no longer operate in different realms but work hand in hand, striving for better health for all.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, health institutions forged novel and effective partnerships to support emergency response, data and information sharing, and infectious disease detection. The Common Health Coalition wants such crisis-tested strategies to become the new foundation of all partnerships between healthcare and public health systems.

In March the Coalition announced a pioneering set of commitments and pledges to expand its membership. Central Health stands with pride behind the Coalition’s mission to strengthen relationships between healthcare organizations and public health systems. Central Health’s own mission is to ensure healthcare equity and deliver access to care to those that need it most.

Visit commonhealthcoalition.org/about to learn more about membership and the action points and priorities that make up the coalition’s commitments.
