AUSTIN, Texas — Central Health is launching a new chapter for health care in Travis County with the debut of its Fiscal Year 2026 budget, marking the first time that Central Health, CommunityCare Health Centers, and Sendero Health Plans are planning their budget and strategy together as one unified system. The “Year of Access” signals a transformation toward faster, easier, and more connected care for the county’s underserved residents.
To kick off this effort, Central Health is inviting the public to a Community Conversation on Thursday, July 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at KMFA Classical 89.5, 41 Navasota Street, Austin, TX 78702. The event will be cohosted by Travis County Judge Andy Brown.
A Bold Vision for FY 2026: One System, One Budget, One Mission
The FY 2026 budget focuses on eliminating delays in care, creating a more seamless patient experience, and maximizing the value of every tax dollar.
Key goals include:
- Eliminating health care delays: Reducing appointment wait times across the system, avoiding hospital readmissions and emergency department visits for patients, and providing the tools for patients to stay connected to the care they need.
- Increasing access and care: Helping more residents access health coverage including through Sendero Health Plans, closing critical care gaps, and prioritizing services for those most at risk.
- Empowering our workforce: Strengthening the team that powers our health system by increasing team member satisfaction, participation in system-wide goals, and building a sense of belonging to increase health care outcomes.
- Growing smartly and efficiently: Reducing duplication across departments, increasing community support and trust, and security new sources of non-tax revenue to ensure every dollar goes a long way.
By aligning budget priorities, Central Health, CommUnityCare, and Sendero Health Plans are transforming how services are delivered and supporting patients every step of the way.
“Access to care is not just a goal, it’s a lifeline. For many in our community, timely and equitable care can make all the difference,” said Dr. Pat Lee, president & CEO at Central Health.
