Health Center Expansion

January 6, 2011

The Central Health Board of Managers approved at its regular meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 5, a lease for additional clinical space at 6801 IH35 South.

This new location supplements the existing CommUnityCare convenient care location in the shopping center at the southeast intersection of William Cannon and Interstate 35. The site, opened in the fall of 2008, has experienced an increasing volume of patients.

Obtaining the space directly adjacent to the facility would almost double its space, from 2,125 sq ft to 3,900 sq ft. In total, renovations would result in nine exam rooms, an educational conference room, expanded waiting area, expanded laboratory and a new financial screening office.

In addition to expanded space, a new pediatric provider, one licensed nurse, two medical assistants and one medical clerk will be added to staff. Available services would remain as family medicine by appointment, convenient care on a walk-in basis, offered Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
More information on the existing site can be found on CommUnityCare’s Web site at http://communitycaretx.org/locations/william-cannon.html.
