TRUE METRIX glucose meter recall

This is an important message for MAP and MAP Basic members who use a glucose monitor.

If you use a TRUE METRIX glucose meter the FDA has recalled these meters as of April 28, 2026.

You can keep using your True Metrix meter. If you have access to another blood glucose meter, please use that instead. The FDA has more information on what you can do by following the link at the bottom of this notice.

While using TRUE METRIX, you may see an “E‑5” error. This can mean very high blood sugar (over 600 mg/dL) or a meter problem. For your safety, do not change insulin or other diabetes medicine because of an E‑5 error.

If you see an E‑5 error be sure to retest. If you still see the E-5 error and have symptoms like feeling dizzy, sweaty, confused, or very thirsty, call your provider right away.

Call 911 or go to the Emergency Room right away if you feel very sick.
