Forking up the cost for the uninsured

Last week, Central Health Executive VP and COO. Larry Wallace sat down with a reporter from the McAllen Monitor to talk about a Nov. 8 referendum to create the Hildalgo County Healthcare District. This referendum will tackle how health care for the uninsured is accessed, funded and delivered in the county.


As Health Markets Struggle, 9% Average Rise in Enrollment Is Predicted

The Obama administration announced expectations for monthly enrollment in the Affordable Care Act marketplace to average 11.4 million next year, up 9 percent from the monthly average in 2016.

Sylvia Mathews Burwell, the secretary of Health and Human Services, also predicted that 13.8 million people will sign up for Obamacare in the fourth annual open enrollment, which starts Nov. 1.


McCombs and Dell continue collaboration to tackle healthcare delivery

The tax rate will effectively be raised by 6.5 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $6.32 (six dollars and thirty-two cents).
