Central Health Board of Managers Officers

March 3, 2014

The Central Health Board of Managers recently named officers for the 2014 calendar year.

Serving as Chairperson is Brenda Coleman-Beattie. The Travis County Commissioners Court first appointed Ms. Coleman-Beattie to a four-year term on the Central Health Board of Managers in January of 2011. Since then she has served as Secretary (2011), Treasurer (2012), and most recently as Vice-Chairperson (2013).

In addition to her role with Central Health, Ms. Coleman-Beattie is the CEO and Principal Strategy Consultant with 2Thrive4, a strategy consulting company. She has also served as a national behavioral health care consultant with a ten-year consultancy to the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Network on Mental Health Policy Research. Her public service record includes work with several local agencies, including the Austin Travis County Integral Care (ATCIC) Board of Trustees as Past-Chair of the Planning and Operations Committee and liaison to the New Milestones Foundation, and she was a contributor to the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health Integrated Health Care: Connecting Body & Mind Resource Guide.

“It’s truly an honor to be selected by my fellow members as chair of the Central Health Board of Managers and I look forward to our continued service to Travis County. While parts of my professional consultation services focus on mental health, this has always been a personal priority for me as well, as I have been a behavioral health advocate for most of my life,” Ms. Coleman-Beattie said. “I believe that the policy priorities of the Central Health Board will continue to include commitment to and support of total health and wellness, or a ‘head to toe’ approach to transforming health care in Central Texas. Providing local health care services in a comprehensive, integrated manner, having a positive and cost effective change for all of the residents in Travis County. The creation of the Community Care Collaborative is a huge step in that direction and I look forward to being a part of leading our efforts as board chair.”
