Free Naloxone

Saving Lives Across Travis County

Naloxone, also known by the brand name Narcan®, is a life-saving medicine that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose. It helps a person start breathing again by blocking the effects of opioids in the brain. It’s safe, easy to use, and has no potential for misuse.

Thanks to Travis County initiatives, free naloxone is now available at Central Health and CommUnityCare clinic locations. Central Health has both indoor and outdoor Naloxone Distribution Units that provide people with a way to access this life-saving medication for free without stigma or the need for a prescription.

At Central Health, we support efforts to put life-saving tools directly into the hands of the community. The goal is simple: make it easier to save a life when every second counts.
